This specimen was lot 1533 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1883-CNBAC. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder. RARE date. Light attractive grey toning with golden highlights." This type was struck 1859-85 in respectable quantities but not so many as the prior type (Dav-283).
Recorded mintage: 453,000 (including mintmaster ДC).
Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver.
