This specimen was lot 72737 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Kopeks, 1863-CNB AB. St. Petersburg Mint. Alexander II. NGC MS-66. Finest certified of the date on the NGC population report with only one other example at this stellar state of preservation on the PCGS census. A fabulous representative of the type with full cartwheel luster, frosted devices and smooth satiny surfaces. The fields are graced with light mottled smokey grey patina that displays a bit of iridescence that pops out when tilted in the light. A fantastic example with a great look destine[d] for a fine collection." This is the only date where this assayer appears yet it is common. The weight and fineness were reduced in 1867 (Y20a.2).
