Steve Album Auction 53, lot 3279

This specimen was lot 3279 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA: Alexander I, 1801-1825, AE 2 kopeks, 1813-KM, mintmaster AM, chocolate-brown coloration, fantastic strike, NGC graded MS62 BN." This type was struck in large quantities at Ekaterinburg, Izhora, Suzun (shown here) and St. Petersburg 1810-30. Ekaterinburg was the most prolific.

Recorded mintage: 250,000.

Specification: 13.65 g, copper, 29 mm diameter, obliquely reeded edge.
