From Stack's Bowers 2017 NYINC sale, lot 7164

This specimen was lot 7164 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $176.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 2 Kopek, 1800-EM. Paul I (1796-1801). NGC MS-64 BN. Sharply struck with attractive chocolate patina." This type is listed for 1797-1801 and was produced at the Annensk (mintmark AM), Ekaterinburg (mintmark EM, shown here) and Kolyvan (mintmark KM) mints. Later types were considerably reduced in weight.

Recorded mintage: 28,156,000.
