This specimen was lot 319 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 24,000 (about US$30,077 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Poltina 1791, St. Petersburg Mint, ЯA. Rare. 4,5 roubles acc. to Petrov. 2 roubles according to Trapeznikov. Good extremely fine with attractive yellow-green patina." This poltina or half ruble was struck in this type 1785-96. Like the other poltinas of the eighteenth century, it is scarce.
