Sincona sale 63, lot 1777

This specimen was lot 1777 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$125 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Catherine II. 1762-1796. 2 Kopecks 1791, Ekaterinburg Mint, EM. Very fine." This type was struck at the Ekaterinburg mint 1763-96. Many millions were issued between the Annensk, Moscow, Feodesia, Kolyvan, Ekaterinburg and St. Petersburg mints. Many survive today but few in choice condition.
