Goldberg NY International sale 59, lot 2056

This specimen was lot 2056 in Goldberg's NY International sale 59 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $5,760. The catalog description[1] noted, "Rouble 1752 CПБ-ЯI. Authenticated and graded by NGC MS 61 ex Soedermann (# 6611824-008). Coruscating lustre. Brilliant uncirculated." This type was struck at St. Petersburg 1751-54 in substantial numbers and is probably the most available ruble of this ruler altho this is a better date.

Recorded mintage: 968,000 (including mintmaster IM).

Specification: 25.85 g, 0.802 fine silver.
