This specimen was lot 1746 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 2,000 CHF (about US$2,506 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Elizabeth, 1741-1761. Rouble 1750, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB. 2.5 roubles according to Petrov. PCGS MS61. Cabinet piece with mint luster and patina." This type was struck at Moscow and St. Petersburg 1743-51. The succeeding type had mintmasters' initials added.
