This specimen was lot 3197 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €20,000 (about US$26,242 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS KARLS I. Dicker, doppelter Reichstaler 1737, mit Titel Karls VI. Abschlag von den Stempeln des Rathaustalers. Münzmeister Johann Michael Federer. Stempelschneider Christoph Daniel Oexlein. PER CAROLVM POPVLO REDIENS PAX IVRA TVETVR (das Chronogramm ergibt die Jahreszahl 1737) Ansicht des Rathauses, im Abschnitt CVRIA RATISB und die Signatur Ö - F//CAROLVS VI · D . - G · ROM · IMP · SEMP · AVG · Geharnischtes Brustbild Karls VI. r. mit Lorbeerkranz und umgelegtem Mantel, am Armabschnitt die Signatur C D Ö (Christoph Daniel Oexlein, Stempelschneider in Regensburg 1714-1779). Von allergrößter Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, winz. Kratzer, vorzüglich. (city of Regensburg, thick double thaler of 1737, struck in the name of Charles VI. Obverse: view of the city hall; reverse: armored, mantled and laureate bust right, engraver's initials on the truncation. Supremely rare, handsome patina, some scratches, extremely fine.)"
While this design is listed in the SCWC, Davenport does not show any city hall thaler or double thaler for Regensburg.
