This specimen was lot 74648 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $930. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Prussia. 20 Mark, 1896-A. Berlin Mint. Wilhelm II. PCGS MS-64. Attractive brilliant fields support frosty, smartly impressed devices. Drenched in warm orange-apricot, a bold to sharp strike enhances this coin's considerable appeal. A premium quality piece that is sure to appeal to intermediate and advanced gold enthusiasts." This type, issued 1890-1913, is common and is a product of the Berlin mint (mintmark "A").
