Künker sale 293, part of lot 421

This specimen was part of lot 421 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), which sold for €260 (about US$351 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Wilhelm I. 1861-1888. Ku.-3 Pfennig 1869, B. Dazu: Ku.-2 Pfennig 1869 B; Ku.-Pfennig 1869 B. AKS 106, 107, 108; J. 52, 51, 50. 3 Stück., Polierte Platte. Exemplare der Slg. Horn. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, William I, 1861-88, lot of three coins: 1869-B 3 pfennig; 1869-B two pfennig and 1869-B one pfennig, all proof.)"

This type was struck 1861-73 (two years after unification) at Berlin (A), Hannover (B) and Frankfurt (C) and all dates are common tho the SCWC does not mention any proofs. The coin was worth 1/120 of a vereinsthaler.

Specification: 4.46 g, copper, 24 mm diameter.
