Prussia 1827-A thaler Dav-761
This specimen was lot 4064 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €80 (about US$111 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. Taler 1827, A. Ausbeute. Sehr schön. Erworben 22.9.1972. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, thaler of 1827, for the mines. Very fine.)"
This thaler was struck 1826-28 at Berlin and is not rare. These thalers were struck in limited numbers to promote the product of local silver mines. Many German states issued them.
