Künker sale 335, lot 3753

This specimen was lot 3753 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €7,500 (about US$9,815 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. Taler 1812, A. Kronprinzentaler. RR Winz. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich. Der vorliegende Taler wurde auf den Besuch des Kronprinzen Friedrich Wilhelm (später Friedrich Wilhelm IV.) in der Berliner Münze geprägt. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, "crown prince" thaler. Rare, a few light nicks, extremely fine.)"
