Künker sale 353, lot 3798

This specimen was lot 3978 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €110 (about US$153 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. Taler 1812, A. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Erworben am 8.1.1971. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, thaler of 1812. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was issued 1809-16 at Berlin (shown here) and Düsseldorf and is common in worn condition.

Recorded mintage: 1,287,382.
