This specimen was lot 2963 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "PRUSSIA: Friedrich Wilhelm III, 1797-1840, AR thaler, 1798-A, VF, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was issued 1797-1809 at Berlin (shown here), Breslau and Glatz and is common in worn condition.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a fairly common date.
Specifications: 22.27 g, 0.750 fine silver, .537 troy oz ASW.
