Künker sale 293, lot 358

This specimen was lot 358 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,752 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Reichstaler preuß. 1783, E, Königsberg. Leicht justiert, vorzüglich Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II (the Great), 1740-86, thaler of 1783, Königsberg mint. Light adjustment marks, extremely fine, from the Bernhard Terletzki collection)"

This type was struck 1775-86 at Berlin, Breslau and Königsberg (shown here). It is common in circulated condition, tho Königsberg issues obtain a slight premium.

Specification: 22.72 g, 0.750 fine silver.
