This specimen was lot 24693 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 200 Reis, 1855. PCGS MS-66 Secure Holder. Bold strike with light attractive showing electric blue highlights in the peripheries. A superb gem with great eye appeal." This type of 1854-55 featuring a young bust of king Pedro V is not priced extravagantly in the SCWC but is seldom seen. The prior 200 réis of Maria II weighed 5.92 g.
