This specimen was lot 943 in Sincona sale 54 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$357 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PORTUGAL | Königreich, João V. 1706-1750. 1/2 Escudo 1722, Lissabon. Gutes sehr schön. Kleiner Randfehler. (kingdom of Portugal, John V, 1706-50, half escudo of 1722, Lisbon mint. Good very fine, Minor edge nick.)"
This 800 réis or half escudo was struck the one year only. Later types (Fr-92) dropped the "L" mintmark. Half escudos were struck throughout the 18th century.
