This specimen was lot 1875 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "Poland. 100 Zlotych, 1995. Golden Eagle. NGC graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo." Poland obtained her freedom in the early 1990's with the fall of the Berlin Wall but the new government found the treasury as empty as before. NCLT's ("Non Circulating Legal Tender" coinage) were issued in a bewildering array to help stem the flow. This one was struck 1995-2000 as a bullion coin. It was accompanied by one ounce, half ounce (Fr-160) and tenth ounce (Fr-162) issues.
Recorded mintage: 3,000.
Specification: 7.78 g, 0.999 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, 0.250 ounce AGW.
Catalog reference: Fr-161; KM Y-293.
