Poland 1932 10 zlotych
This specimen was lot 49182 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. 10 Zlotych, 1932. London Mint. PCGS MS-63. From the Collection of Kazmier Wysocki, former mayor of Hackensack, New Jersey." This type was struck at London and Warsaw in 1932-33. Queen Jadwiga is depicted on the obverse; as there were four Polish queens of that name, we don't know which one was intended. The most likely candidate was Jadwiga (1373-99) who was briefly queen regnant before her death at age 25. The Warsaw mintmark, absent on this piece, is a tiny arrow in the eagle's right claw above the "CH" in "ZLOTYCH".
Recorded mintage: 6,000,000 plus 3,100,000 struck at Warsaw.
Specification: 22 g, 0.750 fine silver, 34 mm diameter, designed by Stanislaw Ostrowski.
