from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice Online Auction, lot 76142
SB225-76142r.jpg

This specimen was lot 76142 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. 2 Zlotych, 1933. Warsaw Mint. NGC MS-63." This type was struck at Warsaw in 1932-33. Queen Jadwiga is depicted on the obverse; as there were four Polish queens of that name, we don't know which one was intended. The most likely candidate was Jadwiga (1373-99) who was briefly queen regnant before her death at age 25.

Recorded mintage: 9,250,000.

Specification: 4.4 g, 0.750 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, reeded edge, engraved by Antoni Madeyski.

Catalog reference: KM-Y20.
