Sincona sale 80, lot 3123

This specimen was lot 3123 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 40 CHF (about US$48 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"POLEN, Johann Kasimir, 1649-1668. Schilling 1660, Krakau. Boratynka koronna. Gutes vorzüglich. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung. (kingdom of Poland, John Casimir, 1649-68, schilling of 1660, Cracow mint. Good extremely fine, Extraordinary condition.)"

This type is listed for 1649, 1659-65 and has a very low catalog value. We have followed the SCWC and filed this coin under its Latin name, solidus.
