This twenty-five piso was struck by the Franklin Mint to honor the centennial of the birth of war hero Douglas MacArthur. It was hoarded and is common today altho many have PVC damage. The design was also used on a gold 2500 piso (KM 231). The currency was reformed in 1967 and all the World War era coinage struck in the USA was demonetized.
Recorded mintage: 9,800 in matte finish and 6,318 proofs.
