This type was struck in San Francisco for the Philippines 1907-12, after which no silver pesos were struck until the commemorative issues of 1936 (KM 177 and 178). It replaced a larger coin struck 1903-06. Small size proofs exist but are rare. These coins are listed in the Red Book as well as the SCWC and are collected as part of the United States series. All the American issues were demonetized in the 1960's as part of a currency reform.
