This type was issued in various forms since 1991, with this subtype starting in 2001. In 1991, the currency was reformed, one nuevo sol = one million intis. Surprisingly enough, the nuevo sol has remained stable against the dollar (US$1 = S/. 2.77, October 2013, US$1 = S/. 3.63, January 2021).
