This type, issued from 2007, replaced a brass five centimos (KM 304) issued 1991-07. In 1991, the currency was reformed, one nuevo sol = one million intis. Surprisingly enough, the nuevo sol has remained stable against the dollar (US$1 = S/. 2.77, October 2013, US$1 = S/. 3.63, January 2021).
Recorded mintage: 11,600,000.
Specification: 1.02 g, aluminum, 18 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 304.4a.
