This specimen was lot 1363 in Sedwick Auction 36 (Winter Park, FL, November 2024), where it sold for $510. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, 2 reales, 1854 MB, NGC MS 62, finest known in NGC census, ex-Whittier, ex-O'Brien. Lightly rainbow toned over luster, the date side particularly nice. Pedigreed to the Whittier Collection (stated on label, Heritage auction of June 2006, lot 17491) and to the John O'Brien Collection, with his tag." This type was struck in Lima 1840-51 and 1854-56 and this is a fairly common date. Assayer MB operated 1838-58.
