This specimen was lot 179 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 88 euro (about US$140 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1806. Lima. JP. 8 reales. Pátina irregular. Leves rayitas. MBC+. (eight reales of 1806, uneven toning, light scratches, choice very fine.)"
This type was struck 1791-1808 for Charles IV and is probably the most common colonial coin of Peru. Assayer JP is recorded for 1803-23.
