This specimen was lot 1346 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, pillar 2 reales, Ferdinand VI, 1756 JM, mintmark with MA ligature, extremely rare, ex-O'Brien. Cleaned AVF with faint gray toning, old gouge between 1 and 7 of date, rated R4 in Yonaka, who observed only one example (not this coin). Pedigreed to the John O'Brien Collection, with his tag." This type, the first milled two reales of Peru, was struck for Ferdinand VI 1752-60. It is not rare but many of the dates are very scarce compared to their Mexican equivalents.
