This specimen was lot 271 in Aureo y Calicó sale 448 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 16,000 € (about US$20,901 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "1749. Fernando VI. Lima. V. 8 escudos. Rev.: L·-·8·-·V· / P·-·V·-·A· / 7·-·4·-·9. Very rare, we have not had any example with this assayer. MBC [very fine]." This eight escudos was struck during the reign of Fernando VI. Assayer V is listed only for 1747. Milled gold coinage commenced in Peru in 1751.
