This specimen was lot 74584 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. Cob 2 Reales, 1693-L V. Lima Mint. Charles II. PCGS Genuine--Holed, VF Details. From the Richard August Collection." The regime in Madrid finally permitted the viceroy in Lima to reopen the mint in 1684. This type was struck 1684-1700 for the degenerate Charles II. Assayer V stamped his coins 1689-93.
