The first specimen was lot 4524 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $92. The catalog description[1] noted, "Paraguay. 10 Centavos, 1908. One year type. Choice Uncirculated. The Judy Cahn Collection." This copper-nickel ten centavos was struck for Paraguay in 1908. By 1908, silver coinage in Paraguay was a distant memory and coinage in general was scanty and irregular. This type is accompanied by a five and twenty centavos and no further coins were emitted until 1925. The peso was dropped in favor of the guarani in 1944.
