CNG Lissner collection, lot 2013

This specimen was lot 2013 in Classical Numismatic Group's auction of the Richard Lissner collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $108.90. The catalog description[1] noted, "PARAGUAY, Republic. 1811-pres. CU-NI 20 Centavos. Buenos Aires mint. Dated 1908. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 65. Gem uncirculated with a hint of patina. Highest ever graded." This type is accompanied by a ten and five centavos and no further coins were emitted until 1925. The peso was dropped in favor of the guarani in 1944.
