This specimen was lot 33580 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic silver Proof Piefort 5 Kina 1981 PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC, London mint. Designed by Michael Rizzello and illustrating a native boy inspecting the fish he's just caught in honor of the International Year of the Child. Extremely rare in this double-thick format (Krause records a mintage of just 39 pieces) and presently only the second example certified as fine by NGC." The specification we have given below is for the regular issue, not the piefort. Other issues of the period were produced by the Franklin Mint.
