Papal States 1760 giulio
This type was minted 1760 only for Clement XIII (1758-69). The giulio was ten baiocchi, while the scudo was one hundred baiocchi. The SCWC notes this type as scarce. The first specimen seems to have been gilt (gold plated). The second specimen was lot 6043 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €260 (about US$362 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"ITALIEN, KIRCHENSTAAT/VATIKAN, Clemens XIII. 1758-1769. Giulio A III/1760, Rom. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung AU 55 (5778222-024). Fast vorzüglich. (Italy, Papal States, Clement XIII, 1758-69, giulio of the year 3, Rome mint. Graded NGC AU-55, about extremely fine.)"
