This specimen was lot 2669 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 4,250 CHF (about US$5,159 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALY | Vatican - Church State. Alexander VII. 1655-1667. Scudo d'oro 1655, Bologna. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. NGC MS63. (Italy, Papal States, Alexander VII, 1655-67, gold scudo of 1655, Bologna mint. Rare, especially in this condition.)"
This type was struck 1655-58. The scudo d'oro was equal to the goldgulden and was slightly lighter and lower in purity than the ducat.
