Sincona sale 47, lot 1903

This specimen was lot 1903 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$120 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Kirchenstaat, Julius III. 1550-1555. Giulio AN V (1555/1556), Rom. Sehr schön. Knapper Schrötling. (Papal States, Very fine, Small flan.)"

Berman notes eight different giulii for this reign, of which this one is fairly available.

Recorded mintage: unknown but available.

Specification: 3.20 g, .920 fine silver[2], this specimen 2.74 g.
