Jean Elsen sale 132, lot 556

This specimen was lot 556 in Jean Elsen sale 132 (Brussels, March 2017), where it sold for €480 (about US$608 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIE, ETATS PONTIFICAUX, Clément VII (1523-1534), (Giulio de' Medici), AV mezzo giulio, Parme. D/ Ecu de Médicis sous la tiare et les clés. R/ SVB TVVM PRAESIDIVM/ PARMA La Madone à l'Enfant trônant de f. Très rare. Beau à Très Beau. (Italy, Pontifical State, Clement VII (1523-34) silver half giulio, Parma mint. Obverse: arms below crossed keys and tiara; reverse: Madonna and Child enthroned. Very rare, fine to very fine.)"

It was struck for the duchy of Parma, then a papal fief.
