Sincona sale 80, lot 2824

This specimen was lot 2824 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$300 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALY | Vatican - Church State, Hadrian VI. 1522-1523. Giulio o. J. Roma. Selten. Schön. Korrodiert. (Papal States, Hadrian VI, 1522-23, undated giulio, Rome mint. Rare, Fine, Corroded.)"

Hadrian VI was the last non-Italian pope until the election of John Paul II. This is the only giulio of his brief reign.

Specification: 3.95 g, 0.920 fine silver, this specimen is 2.86 g.
