Pakistan 1976 3000 rupees

from the Stack's Bowers 2020 NYINC sale, lot 21228

This specimen was lot 21228 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description^[1] noted, "PAKISTAN. 3000 Rupees, 1976. NGC MS-64. Wildlife Conservation Series issue featuring the Astor Markhor. A brilliant and attractive piece with frosty luster a few wispy hairlines defining the grade." This NCLT was accompanied by a 100 rupees (KM 41, Jinnah), 100 rupees (KM 40, pheasant) and a silver 150 rupees (KM 42, gavial). The Pakistani regime has issued few NCLT's, apparently not appreciating the opportunities for graft and self-dealing available to such issues.
