Olmutz 1779-W 20 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3535 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$528 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Olmütz, Bistum, Anton Theodor von Colloredo, 1777-1811. 20 Kreuzer 1779, Wien. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Austria, bishopric of Olmütz, Anthony Theodore of Colloredo, 1777-1811, twenty kreuzer of 1779, Vienna mint. Very Fine-Extremely Fine.)"
This type was struck in Vienna for this ecclesiastical state in Moravia, then part of Austria, now the Czech Republic. It seems to be the only issue of this denomination. It was accompanied by a ten kreuzer (KM 480), half thaler (KM 484), thaler (KM 486) and ducat (KM 488). Only the ten kreuzer is common. Twenty kreuzer made one sixth of a convention thaler.
Recorded mintage: 900.
Specification: 6.68 g, 0.583 fine silver, this specimen 6.67 g.
