Olmutz 1706 15 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3498 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 11,000 CHF (about US$16,579 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Olmütz, Bistum, Karl III. von Lothringen, 1695-1711. 15 Kreuzer 1706, Kremsier. Sehr selten. Fast sehr schön. Schrötlingsfehler. (Austria, bishopric of Olmütz, Charles III of Lorraine, 1695-1711, fifteen kreuzer of 1706, Kremsier mint. Very rare, About Very Fine, Flan flaw.)"
This type was struck 1706-11 and is a late issue of this denomination, which was terminated in 1716. Fifteen kreuzer was one-sixth of a reichs thaler. Olmütz, then in Moravia, is now Olomuoc in the Czech Republic.
