Olmutz (1616) 3 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 1226 in Jean Elsen sale 165 (Brussels, June 2026), where it sold for €180 (about US$248 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SAINT EMPIRE, OLMÜTZ, Évêché, Franz von Dietrichstein (1599-1636), AR 3 Kreuzer, s.d., Kromeriz. D/ B. à d. en habits épiscopaux. R/ Trois écus séparés par des ornements. Très Beau. (Holy Roman Empire, bishopric of Olmütz, Franics of Dietrichstein, 1599-1636, undated silver three kreuzer, Kromeriz mint. Obverse: bust right in bishop's robe; reverse: three shields seprated by ornaments. Very Fine.)"
Olmütz, then in Moravia, is now Olomuoc in the Czech Republic. This three kreuzer was worth one-twentieth of a thaler. The Kroměříž (Kremsier) mint operated 1614-1756.
