Olmutz (1615) 2 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 1756 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,450 CHF (about US$1,916 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Olmütz, Bistum, Franz von Dietrichstein, 1599-1636. 2 Kreuzer o. J., Kremsier. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. Kleiner Randfehler. (Austrian states, bishopric of Olmutz, Francis of Dietrichstein, 1599-1636, undated two kreuzer, Kremsier mint. Rare, Good very fine, Minor edge flaw.)"
This type was struck circa 1615 for this ecclesiastical state in Moravia, then part of Austria, now the Czech Republic. It would have passed for a half batzen in Switzerland. The Kroměříž (Kremsier) mint operated 1614-1756.
