Olmutz (1)618 3 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3447 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$641 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Olmütz, Bistum, Franz von Dietrichstein, 1599-1636. 3 Kreuzer 1618, Kremsier. Interessanter Doppelschlag: Die Jahreszahl liest sich "518". Fast vorzüglich. Doppelschlag. (Austria, bishopric of Olmütz, Francis of Dietrichstein, 1599-1636, three kreuzer of 1618, Kremsier mint. Interesting double strike; the date reads "518". About Extremely Fine, Double struck.)"
This type was struck 1618-19 for this ecclesiastical state in Moravia, then part of Austria, now the Czech Republic. It superseded a three kreuzer with a facing bust. This example realized seven times the catalog value.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver or billon, this specimen 1.30 g.
