Oldenburg in 1942

This specimen was lot 3342 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$302 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Oldenburg, Grossherzogtum, Friedrich August, 1900-1918. 2 Mark 1900 A, Berlin. Sehr schön. Hübsche Patina. (Germany, grand duchy of Oldenburg, Frederick August, 1900-18, two mark of 1900, Berlin mint. Very fine, Attractive patina.)"

This issue is rare in proof and uncirculated.

Recorded mintage: 50,000 plus 170 proofs.

Specification: 11.11 g, 0.900 fine silver, 27 mm diameter, this specimen 11.06 g.
