This specimen was lot 1202 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $105.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "OLDENBURG: AR groschen, 1865-B, PCGS graded MS65, ex Don Erickson Collection." This type was struck 1858, 1864-69. The grand duke of Oldenburg survived the Napoleonic mediatization and the Prussian annexations to issue coinage during the Wilhelmine empire. However, his state on the North Sea remained windswept and impoverished and his coinage is scanty.
