Künker sale 352, lot 2004

This specimen was lot 2004 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,897 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NÜRNBERG, STADT, 2 Dukaten 1649, auf den Westfälischen Frieden. Lammprägung. GOLD. Vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Nuremberg, double ducat of 1649, on the Peace of Westphalia, Paschal Lamb. Extremely fine.)"

This issue and the accompanying single ducat (Fr-1833) celebrated the Peace of Westphalia which finally ended the Thirty Years War.
