Norway 1936 krone
This specimen was lot 23427 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. Krone, 1936. NGC MS-64. The lowest mintage within the series, this date is definitely more desired than most, especially in a Near Gem state of preservation such as the present piece. Lightly toned with radiating luster, only four have been graded finer by NGC." The silver krone and two kroner were terminated in 1917 and the silver twenty-five and fifty ore in 1919. When coinage of the krone resumed in 1925, it was with this copper-nickel type with a hole. It was struck 1925-27, 1936-40, 1946-51 with the early dates being quite scarce in nice condition.
Recorded mintage: 700,000.
Specification: 7 g, copper-nickel, 25 mm diameter.
