This specimen was lot 4808 in Goldberg sale 65 (Los Angeles, September 2011), where it sold for $402.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Norway. 10 Ore, 1942. Haakon VII. All except 9,667 pieces were melted. World War II government in exile issue. Scarce. NGC graded MS-65." The catalog does not note why, after going to the trouble of striking 6,000,000 of these (along with twenty-five and fifty ore), the London government then melted nearly all of them.
